All NIGHT LONG (YOU’VE BEEN ON MY MIND)

The dancefloor gets a fresh boost with Kenny Knight‘s reimagining of the 1996 Mood II Swing classic                                                                   All Night Long (You’ve Been On My Mind) .” Released through his own Coastline Recordings, Knight splits the difference between reverence and reinvention with two distinct mixes that showcase his deep-rooted delivery of electronic soul.

The “Kenny’s Mood 4 Sax Mix” version pairs Jennifer Real‘s commanding vocals with Knight’s warm saxophone lines, intertwining organic and electronic elements. Real, a Tampa Bay vocal powerhouse, is complemented by Knight’s saxophone, weaving through chunky, bouncing rhythms like a summer breeze through palm trees.

His “Mood 4 Synth Mix” swaps brass for circuitry, letting Knight’s Moog Voyager do the heavy lifting. Here, Real’s voice takes on a more focused role, sitting perfectly against the fat monophonic riffs. The vintage synth tones feel both nostalgic and forward-thinking, bringing it all together from someone who’s been running a deep house label for over two decades.

Kenny Knight finds the sweet spot between honoring the original’s spirit and establishing his own signature. The result feels like a cross-generational dialogue about what made ’90s house music special.
